UKAS accredited to calibrate most of the commonly used threads including ACME and Taper threads we consider ourselves to be the thread specialists in the area. We generally measure the threads when calibrating rather than use a “check plug” we do this of course so that we know exactly how much wear has taken place rather than the pass or fail concept of the “check plug”. Consequently we receive quite a lot of work to arbitrate in gauging disputes as well as thread identification.
